The Colorado Energy Science Center's new Consumer Guide to Energy
Efficiency was printed in late August and was already being distributed
when Xcel Energy announced that natural gas prices would be sharply higher
this coming heating season. The publication helps homeowners understand
the different components involved in home energy use. By learning about
heating and cooling, energy audits, insulation, and windows, homeowners
can improve a home's energy efficiency while reducing monthly energy
